International Orientation
The International AVÌìÌà team hosts a series of sessions for new students to ensure a successful start to each semester. The sessions are intended to help students navigate settling in Canada and starting studies at the College and becoming a part of the College community.
Attendance to all sessions is MANDATORY for all new international students. Please make sure you are registered for these events. Contact us for more information (inted@okanagan.bc.ca).
Winter 2025 Virtual International Student Orientation
Date:  Tuesday, Dec 10, 9:am -11:30am, PST (America, Europe, Africa, Western & Central Asia)
or
Date: December 11, 4:00pm - 6:30pm, PST (Eastern, Asia)
This Virtual International Student Orientation is mandatory.  You are only required to take one of the two sessions mentioned above.
This session will cover essential information to ensure a smooth transition at OC and living in Canada.

•   campus services & community resources
•    meet the International AVÌìÌà staff team, faculty, and college supports

Winter 2025 Pre-Arrival Info Session for International Students
Date: Session has already been presented for Winter 2025
This info session is designed to make sure you are informed of all the steps relating to registration, medical insurance, up-to-date travel requirements, and more prior to arriving to Canada.
Please note that this session does not replace the main International Student Orientation days listed next.
Plan Ahead Virtual Session
Date: Fall Semester only
Students admitted for the Fall 2025 semester can bring their questions about registration. The session has been designed by the AVÌìÌà Advisors to help you understand how to plan your courses for the entire academic year.
You will learn how to:

The college-wide orientation will be held at the start of September at each campus. For more information, please visit the orientation page /orientation.
Pre-Arrival Guide
- Submit your study permit application to and
- Inform your market recruitment representative as soon as you receive a decision about your study permit application
- Research and plan your accommodation options (Kelowna Student Housing applications - apply as early as 6-10 months in advance)

- Check programs start dates and orientation dates before you plan your travel

- Attend the International Student Orientation:
- Pre-arrival Info session (1 month before classes start)
- Virtual Orientation (3 weeks before classes start)
- Campus Specific In-person Orientation (a few days before classes start)
- Pay your tuition and fees before the deadline
- Purchase early arrival medical insurance –
- Complete ‘OC 101’ and ‘OC Ready’ (Fall and Winter intakes only)
- Submit your travel plan to the International Office Team
- Attend the International Campus Specific In-person Orientation
- Join the OC Campus Wide Orientation at your campuses.
- Apply for OC student ID card
- Apply for your BC Medical
